Pressure-Induced Instability Characteristics of a Transient Flow and Energy Distribution through a Loosely Bent Square Duct

Due to widespread applications of the bent ducts in engineering fields such as chemical, mechanical, bio-mechanical and bio-medical engineering, scientists have paid considerable attention invent new characteristics fluid flow a duct (BD). In ongoing study, spectral-based numerical technique is applied explore energy distribution through loosely square (BSD) small curvature. Flow accelerated due combined action non-dimensional parameters; Grashof number Gr (=1000), curvature (=0.001), Prandtl Pr (=7.0) over wide domain Dean . Fortran code developed for computations Tecplot software with Gost Script View used post-processing purpose. The study investigates steady solutions (SS) result, structure six-branches SSs composed 2- 6-vortex obtained. Then oscillating behavior transition discussed by obtaining time-dependent followed power-spectrum analysis. Results show that trend unsteady (UF) undergoes sequence ‘steady-statemulti-periodicsteady-statechaoticmulti-periodicchaotic’, if Dn increased. Asymmetric 4-vortex are obtained UF. Convective heat transfer (CHT) then examined temperature gradients contours, it found CHT significantly enhanced secondary (SF). present reveals role vortices (HT) highly significant HT occurs substantially chaotic solutions. Finally, interest validation, result compared previously published experimental outcomes, good agreement remarked.
